The performance-based Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) provides a broad vision for the regional transportation system for the next two decades, addressing freeways and other highways, streets, transit, airports, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, freight, demand management, system management including intelligent transportation systems (ITS), and safety. The Regional Transportation Plan - Final, 11/25/03, was the result of a major planning effort initiated in 2001 and completed in late 2003, when it received unanimous support from the Transportation Policy Committee and approval from the MAG Regional Council. It has also passed the federally-required air quality conformity tests.  Since that time, updates to the plan have been prepared. A 2035 Regional Transportation plan and Executive Summary were approved by the MAG Regional Council in January, 2014 and are now available on-line.

A schedule or "program" for specific projects being implemented (undergoing design, right of way acquisition and/or construction, or capital acquisitions for transit) in the next three to five years is provided in the separately-bound MAG Transportation Improvement Program (TIP).

Draft 2016 Annual Report on the Status of the Implementation of Proposition 400

Arizona Revised Statute 28-6354 requires that MAG issue an annual report on the status of projects funded by the half-cent sales tax authorized by Proposition 400. The 2016 Annual Report is the 12th report in this series, covering progress through the fiscal year ending June 30, 2016, and reviewing the program outlook through June 30, 2026.

A public hearing on the Draft 2016 Annual Report on the Status of the Implementation of Proposition 400 has been scheduled for Wednesday, November 16, 2016, in the Saguaro Room, 2nd Floor of the MAG offices located at 302 N. 1st Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85003 at 3 p.m.

The draft document is also available for review at the MAG offices, 302 N. 1st Ave., Phoenix, 85003, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Public comments are welcomed at the hearing, or may be submitted in writing via e-mail, fax or direct mail by 5:00 p.m., Thursday, November 16, 2016. Comments received at the hearing will be transmitted to MAG policy committees for review and information.
