Draft Fiscal Year (FY) 2018-2022 MAG Transportation Improvement Program (TIP)
The Draft Fiscal Year (FY) 2018-2022 MAG Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) has been under development since March 2016. All federally funded projects and regionally significant transportation projects (including local and privately funded projects) are required by federal law to be included in the draft TIP for the purpose of meeting the air quality conformity analysis requirements.

Currently Approved: FY 2017-2021 Transportation Improvement Program
The Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) is a five year schedule of specific projects to be constructed across the region. Competitive project programming began August 2015. Final approval of the FY2017-2021 TIP was completed on June 22, 2016.

MAG Federal Fund Call for Projects is Now Closed
On August 15, 2016, the Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) announced a call for projects to be funded with Federal Highway Administration sub-allocated Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Program (CMAQ), PM-10 certified street sweepers, and Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP-MAG) for Safe Routes to School eligible activities. MAG Federal Fund Programming Guidelines
The purpose of the Guidelines is to establish a transparent set of programming guidelines to maximize the amount of Federal Highway Administration sub-allocated funds obligated each year, and clarify the application and programming process. The updated Guidelines were approved by Regional Council on June 24,2015.

Transportation Programming Guidebook
The purpose of the Guidebook is to provide MAG member agencies background information, instructions, requirements, schedules, applications forms, and contact information for different transportation programs and requirements for the RTP and MAG TIP for FY 2016. This guidebook explains the available transportation funds, funding allocations, and projections as they relate to programming transportation projects.
Changing and Adding Projects to the Current TIP
If an agency needs to make a change or add a project to the current TIP outside of the annual update, please fill out the excel sheet listed below and e-mail to Steve Tate.

Special Projects Fund
MAG established a special projects fund to reimburse the seven cities in the MAG region that contracted to conduct a special census in 2015 for 50 percent of their special census costs, estimated at $8,139,341, spread over approximately a five-year period.
