Mr. Matthews currently serves as Assistant Director of Construction for the Engineering and Construction Services Division of the Salt River Maricopa Indian Community.  In this position, Mr. Matthews provides oversight management of major construction projects on the community and manages the in-house construction and water resource departments.  For the past several years he has been extensively involved in project development for the community including multiagency project coordination, grant funding, and transportation planning.  Mr. Matthews joined the community in the late 1990's rising from department manager to his current position.

Prior to join the community, Mr. Matthews was a successfully engineering consultant for over 20 years managing or working for several Consulting Engineering firms in the valley.  Mr. Matthews possesses a bachelor of science in civil engineering and is a registered professional engineer.
