The Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) is pleased to announce a call for projects to be funded with Federal Highway Administration sub-allocated Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Program (CMAQ), PM-10 Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Program (CMAQ), Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP-MAG) for Safe Routes to School eligible activities.  Total funding available is currently estimated at over $ 3.3 million and funding years and amounts vary by program. Eligible region wide project types include Bicycle-Pedestrian non-infrastructure Safe Routes to School projects, and PM-10 Certified Street Sweepers.

PM-10 Certified Street Sweepers


The Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) is pleased to announce a call for projects to be funded with Federal Highway Administration sub-allocated Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Program (CMAQ), PM-2.5 Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Program (CMAQ-2.5), Transportation Alternatives Program  (TAP-MAG), and Surface Transportation Program (STP-MAG) funding.  Total funding available is currently estimated at over $ 60 million and funding years and amounts vary by program. Eligible region wide project types include Bicycle-Pedestrian construction and non-infrastructure, Intelligent Transportation Systems, Paving of Unpaved  Roads, and PM-10 Certified Street Sweepers. Additionally,  non-life cycle Arterial-Bridge projects within the MAG planning boundary of Pinal County are included.

The FFY 2014 CMAQ PM-10 Street Sweeper Call For Projects is open. The FFY 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 CMAQ Call For Projects  for paving of unpaved dirt roads in the West Central Pinal PM 2.5 nonattainment areas is closed.

The FFY 2013 CMAQ PM-10 Street Sweeper Call For Projects has closed.  The FFY 2015, 2016, 2017 CMAQ Bicycle/Pedestrian, Intelligent Transportation Systems, and PM-10 Paving Dirt Roads, Call For Projects have also closed.  Thank you for your application submissions, information about projects submitted are listed below: FFY 2013 Federal Highway Administration CMAQ program:

  • PM-10 Street Sweepers: 8 requests
FFY 2015, 2016, 2017 Federal Highway Administration CMAQ program:
  • PM-10 Paving Dirt Roads: 12 requests
  • Bicycle/Pedestrian:  29 requests
  • Intelligent Transportation Systems: 35 requests

The project evaluation process for Air Quality Analysis, Congestion Management Process (CMP), project presentations, Early phase Public Involvement, and project technical/budget evaluations, will continue at the modal committees with recommendations for project funding available at the January 24th Transportation Review Committee.

All THREE of the following Evaluation and Qualifying Question forms need to be emailed to Maureen DeCindis at mdecindis@azmag.gov by 10:00 a.m. on October 12, 2012 for your vote to count. All applications must have a score. Please note that there is a unique evaluation form for the Bike Education application.
